Meet our newest counselor, Joan Lockridge-Meglan, LPC
I work with children and adolescents and their parents who are experiencing a variety of needs. My highest priority is to create a warm and inviting space for you and your child as you learn to cope with anxiety or depression, or are healing from trauma or grief. I am also passionate about providing a safe space for members of the LGBTQ+ community to seek support.
By empowering my clients to move from a place of feeling defined by a label, I work to help them see their life as part of a much larger story. Together, we will work to acknowledge what you have been through, and understand and validate its impact. Then, we will build skills that help eliminate the power that labels have over your daily life.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have practiced counseling for four years at a high school and have professional experience working at a therapeutic day school. I have expertise in a variety of evidence-based treatments including: Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Strength-Based Therapy, Exercise-Based Interventions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Play Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
